Vic/Tas HGSA branch 2026 ASM Travel Awards are NOW OPEN
This year the 49th Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) Annual Scientific Meeting is being held in Te Pae, Christchurch, New Zealand, 1-4 August 2026.
The Vic/Tas HGSA branch committee has allocated funds to support members attending this meeting. We have travel awards available to cover the cost of early-bird registration for 2 full members and 3 student members.
Applications are open until 12pm (12 noon) on Thursday 4 June 2026.
There are two categories of travel award:
- General: open to full members
- Student: open to student members enrolled in a PhD, MSc, MGC, MGH, MDiagGenomics, medical students etc
Eligibility for all awards:
- Must have an abstract accepted for the HGSA ASM (with preference given to those selected for oral presentation)
- Current financial member of HGSA (all)
- Preference given to members who do not have CME or workplace reimbursement
- Must not have previously won an award in the same category within the last 5 years
Full guidelines and eligibility details are in the application form attached. Note the committee reserves the right to alter the distribution of awards or not assign all awards offered.
