Calling genomics researchers: Help us design approaches and materials to support inclusion of multicultural communities in research

We are looking for researchers who work, intend to work, or have an interest in genomics research with multicultural communities to take part in a research study.

The Centre for Population Genomics has been awarded a Medical Research Future Fund grant to:

  • co-designing culturally-appropriate participant information; and
  • developing approaches and resources to support the workforce involved in genomics research, including genomics research teams and bicultural workers.

We want to hear your:

  • experiences working in population genomics and/or with underrepresented groups and multicultural communities
  • feedback on materials that have been previously developed to help ensure that communities’ interests are central to future research, and
  • ideas about approaches to support researchers to include communities, implement similar resources, and other needs, such as education.

Your input will directly inform resources we develop through the grant and how we support inclusive research practices across population genomics research in Australia.

Do you want to be part of this conversation? Please send an email to the team at [email protected] and we will send out an information pack with further details about the workshop to be held late June 2026.

If you know of other researchers who may want to take part in this research, please share this with your networks.
