2024 Skills Priority List (SPL) stakeholder survey

Last week the HGSA contributed data from the individual and service-level 2022 HGSA survey's to the Australian skills priority list stakeholder survey. 

The HGSA entered data for:

• Clinical Geneticists (within Occupation code 253399 Specialist Physicians nec)
• Genetic Counsellors (within Occupation code 251999 Health Diagnosis and Promotion Professional nec)
• Genetic Pathologists (within Occupation code 253915 Pathologist)
• Medical Laboratory Scientist (Occupation code 234611)
• Medical Laboratory Technician (Occupation code 311213)

The service-level survey provided data regarding vacancies advertised, challenges filling vacancies and reasons for this, and instances when employer sponsored visa's have been utilised. The HGSA was able to demonstrate there are skill shortages in all of our specialty areas thanks for the data provided to the survey.
